The EVK College for Advanced College was founded in 1990 by students at Corvinus University of Budapest under the name University Entrepreneurship College (EVK), but today, alongside entrepreneurship, our focus has increasingly shifted toward general business and leadership training. Consequently, we now refer to the organization simply as EVK. The goal of EVK is to supplement the curriculum of students studying at Corvinus University of Budapest by offering practice-oriented professional sessions led by the most renowned instructors in their respective fields, thereby training individuals with expertise that stands out even on an international level.
In terms of its organizational structure, EVK is fully comparable to a real company. Its internal operations are organized into committees and run with complete autonomy, thereby giving members the opportunity to gain real leadership experience in real-life situations.
Academic Teams (also composed of members) are responsible for organizing academic and professional programs. In addition to their organizational duties, they work together with a mentor on a corporate business project. The heads of the committees and the team coordinators are also selected from the membership, allowing them to work with their teams for one year on developing the organization within their respective fields.
The Operations and Social Committee is the body responsible for coordinating the internal operative tasks and organizing social events of EVK. This includes maintaining the vibrant community life of the society (one of the EVK’s cornerstones) by managing internal community programs. In addition, its responsibilities include facilitating communication among members and maintaining a livable environment.
The Marketing Committee aims to reach the most talented freshmen at Corvinus University and to build and promote the EVK brand. The committee offers opportunities to develop an annual marketing strategy, create creative concepts, and collaborate with both the committee and the membership on the external communication for various projects.
The External Relations Committee focuses on corporate and alumni (senior) relations. Their responsibilities include maintaining contact with companies, organizing business projects, and organizing major external conferences. The committee is also tasked with building the alumni network and maintaining ongoing communication with its members to foster close collaboration.
The primary responsibility of the Finance Committee is to manage the organization’s finances and other financial matters. This includes preparing and adhering to the annual budget, maintaining internal records of cash and bank transactions, and securing funding for professional and community programs through grant applications.
The primary responsibility of the Academic Affairs Committee is to continuously improve the professional life of the organization and to oversee the Academic Teams. The goal of the multi-year professional college program is to train well-informed and experienced economic professionals within the organization. The basis for this is laid by the two-term EVK Foundations Course organized by the committee.
The Finance Team is responsible for organizing courses and training sessions designed to develop hard skills. In response to member needs, they are developing a multi-level training system, allowing those who wish to do so to delve even deeper into the world of finance.
The work of the Knowledge Team is primarily focused on raising awareness, but it also addresses the needs of members with less mainstream interests. This is how, for example, the Social Media Strategy course and the Advertising Film Training were organized by them this year.
The Organizers are responsible for the comprehensive planning, organization, and execution of the annual National Case Study Competition. Their duties include, among other things, conducting negotiations with companies, maintaining contact with universities, competitors, event planning and coordination, and promoting the event.
